Esra A. Aysun is a cultural operator, working as consultant and producer in the contemporary arts. and a lecturer on cultural management in Istanbul. She is currently one of the partners and the international project consultant for the contemporary theater DOT (since 2005). She is also one of the two initiators of CUMA – Contemporary Utopia Management Association (since 2008). She's been involved in numerous contemporary art and music projects in Turquey (European cultural association, Roxy music Club, Pozitif production, Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, …) and in the USA (Brooklyn Academy of Music and Universal Music Group). She is a board member of the IETM and the Arts and Culture Network Program Coordinator in Turkey of Open Society Institute.

Balkan Express Istanbul Office 2010 will be the first of the Balkan Express Offices retaining a website, mailing list and a digital archive of documentation of performing arts groups, artists and operators working in the region as well as realizing and coordinating with the Balkan Express Consortium the Balkan Express Project Activities- Caravan Visits, Artistic Residencies, Professional Placements for Cultural Operators and the Balkan Express Conference.
The aim is to create continuity, sustainability and visibility for the Balkan Express Network and its activities by activating a cultural initiation (¨cˇu'm„a* in Istanbul,Turkey) to host an office for the Balkan Express. A Balkan Express Fund should also be establish, that will be providing financial income for the activities and the maintenance of the network, which will be there to give financial support for concrete mobility and collaboration initiatives.
