The objective « Regional competitiveness and employment » aims to reinforce competitivity and attractivity of regions, as well as employment. It has a budget of 55 billion euros, which represents 16% of the total budget for cohesion policy. France receives 9.101 billion euros from this total sum.

eligibility for the whole of the French territory

The objective « Regional competitivity and employment » invloves the 22 regions of France. The 4 departments outside of France, in French speaking countries, are involved in the « Convergence » objective.


two defined strands :

The objective has two strands :

- the « regional competitivity » strand that is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), that supports competitivity and attractivity of regions.

- the « Employment »  strand that is co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and which supports professional integration and social inclusion.
